liar.

I knew I shouldn't have said I was going to have the proposal story up by last night. I hate makin' a liar out of myself (I still can't find my camera chord...grr...). But...if YOU had the choice to play with these two cuties or blog, which would you pick???

Yahhhh...that's what I thought.
Exciting news (if you haven't already heard): Team D&G will be sealed on January 2nd at 1:00p.m. in the Las Vegas, Nevada Temple. Oh happy day! The 2nd was already booked for the day, but when my mom called, the lady that schedules these things said, "we just had a cancellation for the large sealing room at 1:00p.m." Everything is working out. :)

Go Grandpa!!!

It's that time of year....when the Robbins men cannot be found in Henderson. And this is why: Them poor little deers...
And because it's that time of year [Halloween]...here is David's costume: A rodeo clown...maybe?
(P.S. This is one of Ashley's clogging costumes from 10+ years ago.)
I don't know what suddenly came over me to allow myself to post this picture. Sorry David! :) I just laugh every time I look at it and wanted to share my joy. ha!

Giulia is not tired. She is way too excited to go home tomorrow! I feel like a 5 year old on Christmas Eve! ahhhhhh!
Thank goodness for homework and studying to keep me occupied! ;)
Buona sera!!!

it figures:

That the weekend I actually use my camera, [last weekend's pictures are from Breezy's new camera] I can't find my USB chord to upload my pictures. I am upset! and it doesn't help that it's 12:37 pm and I'm still in bed blowing my nose constantly and coughing up a lung. gross. I've been successfully fighting off a cold since I moved up here (two of my roommates have been sick, always helpful) thanks to persistent swabbing (yes Mom, I have been swabbing. Had I not, I think I would have been sick like 5 times already) and drinking lots of water. However, I think the lack of sleep + rainy weather this weekend did me in. I was hoping that last night was the worst of it, but when I woke up this morning, I knew that wasn't the case. So, I'm just takin' it easy today and praying that I don't get a fever. Wish me luck. :)
I will write about this last weekend when I put pictures up. I do want to share one story though. As D and I were walking away from the conference center yesterday, an older man came running up to us. I didn't recognize him, so I thought David must know him, or he recognized David or something. wrong. The man smiled at me then looked at David and said, "I noticed something. You know this girl loves you, right?" I think mine and D's jaws dropped in shock. The man looked at me and exclaimed "Well it's true, isn't it?" I laughed [naturally] and said, "It is SO true." David grinned and told him that he did know. The man, still smiling, slapped David on the back and said "Good. Don't you ever forget that." And as he started walking across the street he looked back and said, "Grandpas can just tell these things." And then he was gone. SO CUTE!
Good news: My MFG 201 mid-term that I thought was today isn't until Wednesday. OH HAPPY DAY! [we won't go into details of how Giulia came to find this out. it's a little embarassing. and the only reason i'm writing all this out is so i don't forget how it all came about. if this didn't make sense to anyone, oh well, it does for me and that's all that matters on this one.]
Made my day: read this [ from by brother's family blog.]
Can't wait: to go home this weekend!

are ya kiddin' ted?

no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no. Provo doesn't get "Autumn" this year? Is that what yer tellin' me?
Totally different note: WOW giulia is struggling with focusing on her schoolwork. Here's a taste of what's going through her mind: (maybe one day I'll tell you more about it) (P.S. I would really love to have all of those shoes...sigh...one day...)

And other exciting news: I really love this headband. Sad story though: I went to Target to get another, and they're out!!! bummer.
And just one more thing: Today in Ital:201, I suddenly had all my dreams of studying abroad this coming spring in Italy hit me in the face. I still want to go sooo bad. This summer when I realized I wouldn't be going, I was fine with it and chose to be excited about the other adventures that will take place in my life instead, butttt....Italia is calling my name. Screaming it, infact. It kind of makes me want to cry that I can't go. But I don't shed tears about such things so I didn't cry/haven't cried about it, but know that if I did, I would. [make sense?] And it's not just that I won't ever have the opportunity to go, because I will go [someday]. What's getting me all worked into knots is that's all it would be. A trip to Italy. (Not meaning that I would complain about a trip to Italy.) I wanted to LIVE there, study in Sienna, become fluent in the beautiful language, submerge myself in the culture and the people, and be an Italian; not a tourist.
In my attempts to console myself, the phrase "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans" kept running through my head. However, when I told God I was going to study abroad in Italy, I don't think he laughed at me. I think he kindly smiled (a very loving father kind of a smile), wishing that such an adventure was in my deck of cards because He knows how much I want it. And then He, knowing what is best for me, gently placed me on a different path. I feel like I'm on the one path looking over at the other, yearning to be over there, but knowing that this is the path where I belong...for now. The realization of this was a bittersweet moment for me today as I discovered yet another tender mercy in my life. I may not be getting the brief Italian dream life that I wanted and worked and saved for, but I know that I am being blessed with something far greater and much more important.
E con quello io dico buana sera a tutti!
Un abbraccio, sempre.
E anche un baccio. Infatti, due baccie, come gli italiani. Vi amo.
(P.S. I don't know if I said all that correctly, but whatever.)
