one fine day.

Yesterday was one fine day. "Why?" do you ask? Well, let me tell you! I spent the whole day with this handsome face! (Lucky girl, I know)

David was asked to speak at Camp Helaman, a sort of "missionary prep camp" that his stake does every year up on Kolob Mountain. He was going to drive all the way up there (about 3.5 hours), speak for an hour or so, and then drive back to Henderson all by his lonesome. Luck would have it that Giulia had the day off! OH HAPPY DAY! So he drove and I took shotgun (just call us Bonnie and Clyde...where did THAT come from?), and we talked and laughed and danced and sang all the day long.
The agenda for the day was as follows: ran at 6 in the a.m. (it was supposed to be 5....i slept in...)(and yes David came with me! ha.), on the road at 8:10 (was supposed to be 7:45ish, my bad), hit St. George around 10:30, went to the "Lemon Squeeze" (at least, that's what I know it by. According to David its true name is "Fat Man's Crack". awesome. Here's a part of that conversation: David, "You been to Fat Man's Crack?" Giulia, "Whaaaa???" + serious giggling. "Umm...I don't think so..." He laughs too, then points at a certain mountain and explains that it's a small climbing area with some rocks/cliffs that you SQUEEZE by and climb out. Giulia, "oh yah! Been there, squeezed through that crack." [okay, so I didn't really say that last part, but it just came to me and I thought it was hilarious.] Anyway, we went up to "Fat Man's Crack", climbed around (no pictures, sorry), then found some lunch), hit up Cafe Rio [yum!] for some cibo [food], left Georgetown and made our way to Hurricane, missed the exit [woops], took the Toquerville exit instead, wound our way back to Hurricane, and then started on up to Kolob. Camp Helaman is just at the same place they do girls' camp. David didn't quite know how to get there, so my mom gave us a map (she's going to girls camp next week, so she had one handy) and off we went! We found out, the hard way, that there are TWO different campgrounds used for Girls' Camp at Kolob. His stake uses one, and my stake uses another. And they're on completely different mountains!! Once we got to the turn-off to start going down the mountain road into camp, David kept saying, "This does not look familiar at all....weird..." And Giulia was saying "Oh, we're fine! It looks familiar to me! And look, we're right here [point] on the map." So we get to the camp ground and David is saying "umm....this is not familiar AT ALL." And Giulia's saying "Look, that's a chick. Oh wow, there's another girl. They're all over!" [young women don't go to Camp Helaman, FYI] Both of us are saying "Uhhh...not good..." To make a long story short (I'm gettin kinda wordy, sorry) we climbed back to the top of the mountain where we found some cell service, called his mom Finis [Finesse, like the shampoo :) ] who instructed David to call Joseph, his brother-in-law, who was able to tell us where we were and where we needed to go. It was worth the mix up though, because on our way we saw this! Well, we made it to the correct campsite (45 minutes late), and turns out he was right on time! The other speakers showed up only 10 minutes before we did and they were going to start in another 10 minutes. Happy Day again! Giulia stayed near the truck and started to prepare for her Relief Society Lesson on Sunday while David went down and did his thing with the boys. The camp director invited me to go down and listen in, but that was too awkward [the only {cute} girl at an all boys camp....yah....awkward....], so I just stayed where I was. After all, I did only come for the ride. David finished and we got right back on the road to head home, but not before we took advantage of the BEAUTIFUL scenery and took some pichas! The ride back consisted of some serious rockin' out, beltin' it till we almost lost our voices, and booty shakin' like Beyonce. It was a great day! A fine day! [complete with an awesome sunset.] mm mm mm. The end. :) For your viewing pleasure:
